Start your triathlon season in Tadcaster with this popular early season sprint!
Traditionally, held on the first Bank Holiday Monday in May, and now in its 17th year, this popular triathlon raises funds for Tadcaster Community Pool.
A great start to the season and a perfect introduction to triathlon for the novice racer as well as more experienced triathletes. It consists of a pool swim (400m), a picturesque bike route (14km) and a safe flat and picturesque run (6km) alongside the River Wharfe.

No entry on the day. Entrants must be aged 17 years or over on 31/12/2025.
ROUTE
SWIM (400M)
Start with a 400m swim in Tadcaster Community Pool. Emerging from the swim, you head to transition at Riverside School car park.
BIKE (13K)
From here, the bike section takes a rural route towards the villages of Boston Spa and Bramham before returning to transition in Tadcaster.
RUN (6K)
The run follows the road to Newton Kyme along a tarmac path by the road where it turns back towards Tadcaster on an unsurfaced footpath along the river bank.
The finish is back where you started outside Riverside School.
TIMETABLE (PROVISIONAL)
07:30 - Registration opens. Registration will remain open until 12:30.
07:45 - Transition opens
09:00 - First Swim Wave
12:30 - Last swim wave
Competitors must be poolside 15 minutes before their start time for their race briefing.
GOODIES AND PRIZES
All finishers will get a Tadcaster Devine Meats pork pie (or a vegan alternative), a jar of chutney from Mercer's of Yorkshire, a micro towel and a medal!
Prizes will be awarded to male and female 1st, 2nd and 3rd, plus 1st male and female vets 40+, 50+ and 60+.
PARKING
We suggest that you use the town car park (behind Cyclesense) which is accessed from A659 (Chapel Street).
Roadside parking is available off Station Road, BUT please avoid parking on Station Road as it is on the cycle route.
